Historically, WHS has focussed primarily on identifying and reducing risks to physical health in the workplace. New WHS regulations now formalise the existing duty of care to manage risks to both physical and psychological health, making it a mandatory requirement for employers (known as “Persons Conducting a Business or Undertaking” or “PCBUs”) to systematically manage psychosocial risks.
