Employee offboarding is what happens when an employment relationship comes to an end and an employee leaves the organisation.

It is the opposite of onboarding (or induction) and should take place regardless of whether the person has resigned, is retiring, or you are letting them go. An effective offboarding process helps provide clear structure while keeping things amicable and supporting the person’s transition out of your organisation.

You should tailor the steps in the offboarding process to the person’s role and circumstances, i.e. whether they are resigning, retiring, being made redundant, or otherwise terminated.

This FREE impact guide covers offboarding best practices that will help you say “goodbye” to your employees as fairly and respectfully as possible, regardless of the reason for their departure.

The guide covers:

  • How to support the person leaving
  • Paperwork that you need to finalise and store
  • Asset collection and asset shutdown
  • Knowledge transfer and exit interviews
  • Revisiting the role
